Water pollution can be controlled if everyone plays a part in managing stormwater runoff. By making responsible decisions about what enters the storm sewer system upstream, we improve water quality and the downstream aquatic habitat. Environmental and neighborhood groups, scientists, technical experts and interested citizens are working together to protect streams and watersheds in north Kind and south Snohomish Counties. Cosmetics contain hundreds of different ingredients, some can cause serious health problems. No safety testing of cosmetics is required, and only nine chemicals are prohibited or highly restricted.
