Yellow Grease for BioFuel

Yellow Grease which is basically the gunk left over after restaurants cook food in vegetable-based oil or animal fat in large-capacity fryers can be turned into biodiesel.  Increased demand for biodiesel has caused the price of yellow grease to triple in the past few years.  Listen to Colin Clifford sales manager for Standard Biofuels one of two companies in Washington state that produces biodiesel from "yellow grease". Growing Bio Fuel Snohomish County

Canola Crops are profitable for local growers to retain farm acreage in Snohomish County.  Bio-diesel is a cleaner fuel for the county fleet.

Local farmers who need new crops to rotate into their existing and fallow fields can now grow canola.
