US Navy has put an extra emphasis in going Green. In 2009 the Secretary of the Navy announced 5 target areas to be achieved by 2020. Navy Region Northwest has already begun to make strides in hitting these goals and is ahead of the Navy's mandate of yearly reduction. Listen to Captain Mike Coury from Navel Station Everett.
Snohomish County now has a Green Newspaper, which came online January 2011. The site carries daily stories for those who want to make their lives more sustainable, for people who are considering a change to a greener lifestyle, articles about urban farming, solar power, electric cars and the coal trains that are passing through the county.
